Ever wanted to learn how to make a traditional Louisiana King Cake but felt a little intimidated? Or maybe you've tried making one before and it was a complete flop? WELL, NOW'S YOUR CHANCE!
Join us for an exciting, hands-on King Cake class where you'll learn how to make your very own delicious, traditional Louisiana King Cake from start to finish, with step-by-step professional guidance!
Each student will make ONE full-size King Cake that serves approximately 12 people, PLUS receive a recipe packet to recreate the magic at home!
What You'll Learn
We're getting our hands in the dough for this one!
Students will learn how to properly prepare and handle a traditional brioche-style yeast dough, including the importance of kneading, proofing, rolling, filling, shaping, and braiding.
Each student will receive their own dough to work with and will learn the techniques needed to create a beautiful, delicious King Cake!
Once our cakes are shaped and ready, they'll be transported to our off-site commissary kitchen for baking until beautifully golden brown.
While we wait for our delicious creations, students will also learn how to prepare, color, and bag their very own King Cake glaze for those perfect Mardi Gras finishing touches!
Two Ticket Options — Choose Your King Cake!
Standard King Cake — $65
Traditional King Cake with cinnamon sugar filling.
King Cake with Additional Filling — $70
Traditional cinnamon sugar filling PLUS your choice of fruit or Bavarian filling!
Please note: Additional filling flavors are subject to availability at A Baker's Paradise on the day of class. Specific flavors cannot be guaranteed.
Both ticket options include the same hands-on instruction, supplies, full-size King Cake, and recipe packet. The ONLY difference is the additional filling!
IMPORTANT: Class Duration & Mandatory Two-Hour Break
This is a five-hour class, but don't worry! You won't be working for five hours straight!
Making traditional brioche King Cakes takes TIME! Our dough needs time to properly proof, the cakes must be baked, and then they must cool before we can add those beautiful finishing touches.
Because of this, there will be a MANDATORY TWO-HOUR BREAK during class.
ALL STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO LEAVE THE CLASSROOM DURING THIS BREAK. This is the perfect opportunity to grab lunch, run errands, or enjoy some time away while our King Cakes are being baked at our off-site commissary kitchen.
Our estimated break is approximately 11:00 AM–1:00 PM. However, these times are NOT guaranteed and will depend on how quickly the class progresses and how our dough cooperates!
PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY! Students who do not drive or have their own transportation MUST make arrangements to be picked up during the break and returned to class at the designated time. Students will not be permitted to remain in the classroom during this period.
We will communicate the exact break and return times during class.
Please note: Our King Cakes will be baked OFF-SITE at a commercial commissary kitchen, not at A Baker's Paradise.
Prefer to bake your King Cake at home? No problem! Students may choose to take their prepared, unbaked King Cake home and bake it themselves. However, the class fee remains the same regardless of whether you choose to have your cake baked for you or take it home to bake.
Student Ticket Information
One King Cake per student.
Ages 12 and older.
Students ages 12+ may attend independently.
Parents must walk minor students to the classroom to complete a liability release form.

Ticket Policy (Please Read Before Purchasing)
All class tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason at any time. This includes cancellations, schedule conflicts, no-shows, late arrivals, illness, or failure to meet class requirements.
By purchasing a ticket, you are reserving a seat in class. Supplies are purchased, prepared, and portioned specifically for each student. Labor is involved in advance preparation and many materials cannot be reused once prepared.
If you cannot attend, you may request a one-time transfer with at least 48 hours notice if space allows, but this is not guaranteed.
Failure to meet class requirements or follow class policies may result in denial of participation without refund.

Class will begin 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, allowing early arrivals time to shop and accommodating those who may be running slightly behind.
Please note: Students arriving 15 minutes or more after the scheduled class time will be denied entry and will forfeit their ticket fee.
