We are thrilled to welcome the legendary Kimmie Rhodes back to The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre this spring – an artist whose music and storytelling have touched hearts across the globe.

Described by The Austin Chronicle as “a prolific figure in Texas Music,” Kimmie is a true creative force. Over her remarkable career, she has released 19 acclaimed albums, written and produced three musical plays, and published both a memoir and a novella/cookbook. Her artistry blends poetic songwriting with an unmistakable voice that has earned praise from icons like Rodney Crowell, who describes her as having “the soul of a poet and the voice of an angel.”

A native of Lubbock, Texas, Kimmie’s roots run deep in Americana music. Her landmark album West Texas Heaven featured duets with Waylon Jennings, Townes Van Zandt, and Willie Nelson, and was hailed by USA Today as “a sweet unhurried ramble through bluebonnets.” This spring marks the special re-release of West Texas Heaven Revisited, remixed and remastered with bonus tracks, including collaborations with Emmylou Harris and Waylon Jennings.

Kimmie’s songs have been recorded by some of the biggest names in music – Willie Nelson, Wynonna Judd, Trisha Yearwood, Amy Grant, Emmylou Harris, and more, and her live performances are celebrated for their intimacy, warmth, and storytelling magic. She has graced stages from Austin City Limits to Glastonbury and appeared on Late Night with David Letterman at his personal request.

Beyond her music, Kimmie is a passionate advocate for musicians and a cultural ambassador, serving on the board of HOME (Housing Opportunities for Musicians and Entertainers) and working with The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation to inspire future generations of songwriters.

This is a rare chance to experience an artist whose work is woven into the fabric of American music history – up close and personal at TSEAC’s intimate theatre.
