About this Event
There’s something magical about turning a single strand of yarn into something you can hold, wear, or give away. In Crochet Camp, kids discover that magic one loop at a time. Each Friday morning, students settle in around baskets of soft, colorful yarn, pick up their hooks, and learn a craft that has been passed from hand to hand for generations.
We start at the very beginning: how to hold the hook, make a slip knot, and build a steady chain. From there, students learn the core stitches, practice keeping their tension even, and build toward the classic granny square. Along the way they learn to read simple patterns and follow them on their own, a skill that opens the door to endless projects long after class ends. By the final week, every student leaves with a finished piece they made from start to finish.
Crochet is a wonderful slow-down skill. The rhythm of the hook is calming, the focus it asks for builds patience, and the moment a project finally comes together is pure joy. Students work side by side, cheering each other on, helping untangle a tricky row, and admiring each other’s color choices, which makes the class as social as it is creative.
Crochet Camp is great for kids who love working with their hands, enjoy quiet creative time, or want a portable hobby they can take anywhere. Beginners are welcome; patience and a sense of fun are all they need. Spots are limited, so reserve your child’s place early.
