Trombonist, trumpeter, vocalist, and raconteur, Kevin Grenfell has appeared at the club on several occasions with his Jazz Giants, which are now regarded as one of the leading forces on the British Jazz club and festival circuit. Kevin Grenfell's musical career began when he joined the band of the Queen's Own Hussars at 18, eventually becoming their principal trombone and featured soloist. He left the army in 1990 to study music at Dartington College of Arts and has since built a reputation as both a solo artist (often guesting with the Danish Paul Harrison Band) and a bandleader.PROBABLE BAND LINE-UP:
• Kevin Grenfell - Trumpet, Trombone, Vocals, Leader

PREVIOUS GJC REVIEWS:
• Thanks so much for an evening of fantastic energy and commitment: one of the best trombonists we hear; wonderful trumpet and great moments of the ‘windys’ playing off each other; and a fantastic rhythm from double bass and drums to love.
• Really good night. Great humour. Great entertainment. Chris is quite good as well!
• Superb entertainment as well as great music.
• With the sad, untimely loss of Jeremy Huggett, Kevin has changed the sound of the band by replacing him with a trumpet player. What hasn’t changed is the exciting style, mainly down to Jules on drums.
