Join us at The Anfield People's Cinema Festival for this screening of the timeless Kes (1969) Directed by Ken Loach
Named one of the ten best British films of the century by the British Film Institute, Ken Loach’s Kes, is cinema’s quintessential portrait of working-class Northern England. Billy is a fifteen-year-old miner’s son whose close bond with a wild kestrel provides him with a spiritual escape from his dead-end life.
The Anfield People's Cinema Festival which will take place over 24th-27th September in venues across the community. This festival is the result of over 20 local volunteers coming together to make something great happen in our local area. To check out the wider programme please visit the link here
Anfield People’s Cinema is a volunteer-run film club which hosts free-to-attend cinema events in venues across our area of Anfield and surrounding neighbourhoods. Our goal is to make bring people together to enjoy and celebrate the magic of films on a big screen.
As with all our screenings there will be a free hot meal for all attendees provided upon arrival as well as a range of refreshements throughout the evening.
This screening is free to attend but we do accept donations at the end of the evening. Any money raised helps us to continue putting on these cinema events in Anfield and covers costs such film liscences, food and marketting.
