Kent Soul Club is in its 20th Year. Playing Original Vinyl Northern Soul, Rare Soul, Soul & Motown to 1000’s of people from all over the UK. Having gone through some very challenging times and circumstances, we have survived and endured and grown. 5 Custodians, 3 different venues, and of all things, the Covid pandemic.Our DJ’s for December will be;
Martin McGowan
Kent Soul Club would not exist unless Martin had not had the inspiration to start this great Soul Club up. Running it from 2006 to 2012. So, we all have him (and his wife Toni) to thank for the nights we have at Kent Soul club. Martin plays a blend of 60’s Northern Soul and Motown. Welcome back Mr. Magoo to KSC
Derek Mead
First time at KSC, Derek has a full roster of resident DJ’s, Blackpool Tower, Kings hall, Winter Gardens, Whitby, Weymouth Weekenders, ran the Dome in London and Bisley SC, Derek runs Soulmine and Beatin’ Rhythm Record shops also. Derek has been a Soul aficionado since his early school years. Welcome to KSC Derek.
Come to dance.
2027 dates are TBC and will follow shortly
5 custodians have committed themselves to the running of the club since 2006, each bringing their own style, sound and commitment to keeping the dance floor full for all our members.
We have moved from the Fantastic Royal Function Rooms in Rochester, to the Beacon Court Gillingham returning to The Function Rooms that sadly closed in late 2021. Now in our new home, Strood & Frindsbury WMC in 2026, we are in our 20th Year.
To commemorate our 20th Anniversary year, we have decided to celebrate the past and the future of the Northern Soul Scene and Kent Soul Club.
At each of this years 5 events, a past custodian of Kent Soul Club and a young Northern Soul DJ will take to the decks. Plus, a few surprises throughout the year, it will be a very exciting time for Kent Soul Club.
Strood Train Station is 5 mins walk from the venue
There are many hotels in the area from as little as £45 for a double room
Once again the price is still £5 on the door. Cash only please
