The Kemptville 73's are located just 30 minutes south of Ottawa and we have had a lot of success moving players to the higher levels of hockey (NCAA, CIS, OHL) including three former 73's players were drafted by the NHL in the spring following the season in which they played for us. Our goal is to help our players achieve their hockey goals.

What makes the CCHL an ideal destination? First, the CCHL has the least amount of travel of any league at this level in North America. From one end to another, the longest trip is slightly over 3 hours (only 2 hours for the 73's). The average trip is under an hour and many teams have several road trips just minutes away. Centrally located in the Ottawa region, the twelve teams miss zero school days as a result of the very full 55 game schedule. Even classes are seldom missed as a result of travel with less than 2 per year the norm. The CCHL provides its players with a high caliber of play, minimal travel and a strong emphasis on development, this may be the ideal place for you. Teams provide their players with guaranteed practice to game ratios and off-ice fitness is mandatory for all programs. By providing access to this training, players can fully develop on and off the ice. The CCHL uses CCM-Reebok equipment exclusively and has an innovative program ensuring players receive new equipment each season that they take with them after the year ends.

The 73's offer a full program that includes an Strength Coach, Education Advisor, access to our own gym in the rink, baseline concussion testing .......We work diligently to promote all of our players to higher levels of hockey (NCAA, CIS, Major Junior, NHL....).

The CCHL is widely considered one of the top Junior A leagues in Canada and regularly sends teams to the Centennial Cup, which is Canada's National Championships. With it's close proximity to the Eastern United States it widely scouted and sends numerous players yearly to the Major Junior and the NCAA.
