Kelsey Lu revient avec So Help Me God, premier album depuis Blood (2019), disque marquant qui révélait une artiste capable de faire dialoguer violoncelle, pop expérimentale et soul avant-gardiste dans un même élan.
Attendu en 2026, ce nouveau chapitre marque une évolution plus frontale et plus sombre. Co-produit avec Jack Antonoff et Yves Rothman, et enrichi de collaborations avec Sampha, Kamasi Washington ou encore Kim Gordon, So Help Me God explore les zones de tension entre désir, foi, deuil et transformation. Loin d’un récit de guérison, Kelsey Lu y livre une œuvre de confrontation et de réappropriation.
À travers une écriture intense et une approche profondément sensorielle du son, l’artiste poursuit son exploration des frontières entre musique, performance et art visuel. Sur scène comme sur disque, Kelsey Lu construit des univers où l’intime devient collectif, confirmant sa place parmi les voix les plus singulières de la création contemporaine.

Kelsey Lu keert terug met ‘So Help Me God’, haar eerste album sinds ‘Blood’ uit 2019, een baanbrekend album dat een artieste onthulde die in staat was om cello, experimentele pop en avant-gardistische soul in één adem te laten samensmelten. Dit nieuwe hoofdstuk markeert een meer directe en donkerdere ontwikkeling.
‘So Help Me God’, geproduceerd in samenwerking met Jack Antonoff en Yves Rothman, en verrijkt met samenwerkingen met onder meer Sampha, Kamasi Washington en Kom Gordon, verkent de spanningsvelden tussen verlangen, geloof, rouw en transformatie. Verre van een verhaal over genezing, levert Kelsey Lu hiermee een werk af dat draait om confrontatie en herovering. Door middel van intense teksten en een diep zintuiglijke benadering van geluid zet de artieste haar verkenning van de grenzen tussen muziek, performance en beeldende kunst voort. Zowel op het podium als op plaat creëert Kelsey Lu werelden waarin het intieme collectief wordt, waarmee ze haar plaats onder de meest unieke stemmen van de hedendaagse creatieve scene bevestigt.
