Shreveport gets a bad wrap for being pretty trashy, so come stretch your legs and help keep Shreveport classy!! Every month, on the second Saturday, the Libertarian Party of Caddo Parish will be out with the trash pickers, bright vests, extra stout PJ's coffee AND depending if Glen shows up, seize-the-day attitudes that will be ESSENTIAL in removing the non-stop flow of debris that gets thrown out on one of SHREVEPORT'S BUSIEST ROADS ~ Our ONEEE and ONLY ~ Youree Drive ~ aka LA HWY 1~
We'll meet up around 8:00 AM in the parking lot, discuss the basic instructions/game plan for the walk-thru, then hand out everything one might need (gloves, vest, bags & pickers) for the task at hand and then off to work we GEAUX!
You're welcome to come late as a couple of us will be out there til 10:30/11 - depending on weather and actual trash magnitude. Afterwards, we usually try to go in and order some food from Tike's Treat's and Eat's afterward in the AC~
We really hope this can become a community effort where if everyone contributes a little bit of time, it makes it super easy and efficient for everyone; with hopefully the ability to move to different areas of the city with the same support!
