KOREA–HOLLYWOOD AI & CINEMA TALK • AUDIENCE Q&A
Cinema in the Age of AI brings together filmmakers and industry leaders from Korea and Hollywood to explore how artificial intelligence is changing cinematic storytelling, production, authorship, and the role of the filmmaker.
The program features two AI-assisted short films developed through the Korean Academy of Film Arts, a behind-the-scenes presentation on the making of Sigumun, and a conversation connecting Korean and Hollywood perspectives on the future of AI and cinema.
FEATURED LINEUP
KYMBER LIM — MODERATOR
Emmy Award-winning visual effects producer, consultant, and founder of MAJYK Studios. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Korean American Leaders in Hollywood, supporting collaboration between the Korean and U.S. entertainment industries.
ROLEN YEALIN JEON — FEATURED FILMMAKER
KAFA-trained producer and filmmaker who co-directed and produced the AI-assisted historical fantasy Sigumun. Drawing on her international production experience, she is developing new projects through her women-led production company, Studio Rolen.
MATT R. ALLEN — PANELIST
Hollywood screenwriter, producer, AI storytelling educator, and Co-Founder of AI Global Entertainment. He co-wrote Four Christmases and has written more than 30 screenplays for major studios.
ERICK GEISLER — PANELIST
Two-time Emmy Award-winning visual effects professional and CTO and Co-Founder of Global Objects. With more than 35 years of production experience, he works at the intersection of visual effects, AI, and spatial intelligence.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Following the screenings, Rolen Yealin Jeon will introduce Sigumun and share how the production combined filmmaking, animation, and emerging AI tools.
Moderated by Kymber Lim, the panel will bring Jeon together with Matt R. Allen and Erick Geisler to discuss how AI is currently being used across the Korean and U.S. film industries.
The conversation will explore changing creative and production workflows, questions of authorship and creative control, the balance between technology and human judgment, audience skepticism toward AI-generated cinema, and opportunities for future collaboration between Korea and Hollywood.
The program concludes with an audience roundtable and Q&A, inviting attendees to join the conversation and share their perspectives on the future of cinema in the age of AI.
