On October 20 at 7:00 PM, join us for our Katzenjammers lecture: THE BAIN DRUM at the Buckingham Meeting House in Newark. This remarkable presentation tells the story of a Hessian drum carried into the American Revolution—and taken from a Hessian soldier during the Battle of Saratoga by an ancestor of our presenter.
More than 250 years later, the drum survives.
And now, a descendant of the man who took it from the Hessian soldier will share its extraordinary journey: from Saratoga to Armageddon, from the Revolutionary War to the present day, and through generations of an American family.
One drum. One family. More than two centuries of history.
Come hear the story behind the Bain Drum and discover what an artifact can reveal when we listen closely enough.
