About the book:
Three women race to retrieve an ancient energy source from a sunken island—and instead unleash the wrath of the gods—in this explosive epic that blends climate fiction and Māori mythology.
"The fast-paced, action-heavy cli-fi heist you've been waiting for.” —Olivie Blake, New York Times bestselling author of The Atlas Six
A century after climate collapse turned the planet into a fractured wasteland, a coalition of island nations survives by sailing the dying oceans. Energy is currency, and mauri stone—a sacred, dwindling resource—is the only thing keeping them afloat.
On the exploited island of Vanu, a young mechanic works tirelessly in the engine system, determined to keep her island moving and to provide for her sick father and young brother. On the matriarchal island of Taroa, a wayward daughter builds a secret ship to cross the equator’s lethal Sea of Fire and reach a rumored refuge that could save her people. And in the middle of the ocean, a deep-sea diver with a cutting tongue and nothing left to lose is dragged into a corporate salvage mission that uncovers the buried remains, and dangerous secrets, of a long-lost civilization.
When a mythical island rises from the sea and ancient forces begin to stir, the three women find their paths converging in an explosive reckoning and must choose whether to protect what’s left—or risk everything to break the world and start anew. $19.99 Pre-order Pre-order your copy today! 1 Buy digital audiobook Libro FM Buy ebook from Bookshop
