Kanakapilas in Hawaii are where friends and family gather to make music (The word translates to “let the instrument sound.”)
Rick Russo “The Ukulele Crooner” brings this spirit of aloha to the Mt Pleasant Library. People are encouraged to bring a ukulele (or other stringed instrument) to sing and play traditional and popular Hawaiian tunes. Some musical ability is encouraged. (This is not a beginner’s ukulele class.) Here’s a great chance to gather and sing some tunes in the old Hawaiian way.
The sessions will run at 6:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, October through December 8th for five total sessions.
Please register through Eventbrite for each and every session that you plan on attending. Each gathering will be limited to 10 participants.
