💙🦋 A quick update for everyone supporting Oaklee:Yesterday’s court appearance did not go the way we expected. During the hearing, the judge had the defendant and the Victim Advocate, Oaklee’s mother, leave the courtroom and go into separate rooms, while everyone who came in support of either side remained in the courtroom. Because of this, those in the courtroom were unable to hear the conversations taking place between the defendant and the Victim Advocate.
Even though our supporters could not hear those conversations, they sat quietly but loudly in support of Oaklee. Their presence was known, and so was our continued request for justice. 💙🦋
During those separate conversations, it was made known that the defendant was not agreeing to the plea agreement that was currently on the table. There was some discussion about possible adjustments that could potentially result in an agreement. At that time, we were not willing to agree to those adjustments.
Between now and our next court date, there will be continued discussions regarding a possible plea agreement. It is possible that those discussions could result in a plea agreement being reached and signed. If an agreement cannot be reached, the case will move forward and a trial date can be set.

Please do not give up on this case, and please do not give up on Oaklee. We still need your support. She deserves justice, and she deserves to know that people are willing to continue showing up for her. 💙
I encourage parents to continue accessing public records and looking into the names of people they trust with their children, including any publicly listed criminal charges or accusations. The police report in this case also documents concerns involving other children.

And if you have children, please don’t feel like that means you can’t come support her. At our last court date, families stayed outside with their children and held signs while people passing by were able to learn why everyone was there. One family even brought arts and crafts for the kids to do outside.
The new courthouse is a different location and the outside area will not be exactly the same, but you can still come, stand outside peacefully with signs, and show your support.
Inside or outside, every person who shows up matters.
Wear blue. Bring your signs. Stand peacefully.
