JUST PAINT is a small-group, large-format painting workshop with professional artist Elliott From at Artbeat Gallery & Lounge in downtown Asheville.
This isn't your typical painting class.
There is no template to follow and no predetermined painting to reproduce.
Instead, you'll choose a large canvas, settle into Elliott's working studio and spend four hours developing a painting that is completely your own.
CHOOSE YOUR CANVAS
Your $225 workshop includes your choice of three canvas sizes:
24" × 30", 24" × 36", 24" × 48"
Acrylic painting materials are included.
WHAT WILL YOU PAINT?
That's up to you.
Bring a photograph, sketch, landscape, abstract idea or color palette that inspires you.
Or come with no plan at all.
Elliott will work individually with each participant throughout the workshop, helping with composition, color, movement, layering, texture and working confidently at a larger scale.
The goal isn't to teach you how to reproduce one of Elliott's paintings.
It's to help you develop your own.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
JUST PAINT is designed for people who genuinely enjoy painting and creating.
Maybe you paint at home but don't have the space to work large.
Maybe you've taken painting classes and are ready for something with more creative freedom.
Maybe you're retired and looking for a serious but relaxed creative outlet.
Or perhaps you're visiting Asheville and would rather spend an afternoon inside a working artist's studio than participate in another typical tourist activity.
You don't need formal art training.
You simply need to want to paint.
WHY FOUR HOURS?
Because a large canvas needs time.
Four hours gives you the freedom to experiment, build layers, change direction, step away from your painting, talk through ideas with Elliott and return to the canvas with fresh eyes.
This isn't about racing to finish.
It's about experiencing the process.

Elliott From has spent more than 30 years working in the creative arts and has built a career as both a studio artist and live performance painter.
Throughout the workshop, Elliott brings that experience directly to you—not by telling you what to paint, but by helping you make stronger creative decisions with your own work.

Thursdays 1:00–5:00 PM. Saturdays 10:30 AM–2:30 PM
$225 per person

Limited to only 6 painters per workshop.
