Intermediate Level PlayersGreen ball is the progression from orange ball. Little to no tennis experience is necessary but is recommended. Green ball will focus more on strokes, techniques and strategies along with rally development. Proper grips, footwork and spin will be emphasized in this program. Players will work on shot selection and rally development. You must be able to hold a consistent rally and have a consistent serve. Players should be competing in match play as well as understand the rules of the game. Players will be playing both singles and doubles and in doubles play must be able to play 1 up and 1 back.
In order to go from green to yellow, you must be able to hold a consistent rally of 6 shots and start a point with an overhead serve. The serve must be consistent and with varying pace and the ability to hit specific targets. You should be able to compete in match play as well as understand the rules to the game and keep score on your own.
Monday and Wednesdays at Caldwell Park.
