About this Event
This class is tailored to improve your proficiency in using your DX series machine. Thanks to the intuitive controls, you can progress from basic machine set up, to decorative stitches and specialised features in a single day!
The class will start off with setting up the machine. Mastering the basic set up of the machine is essential to eliminate common stumbling blocks when moving onto more specialised features.
You will then move on to different types of stitches for both utility and decorative sewing, and the uses of the feet and accessories included in the machine. There are also many additional feet that can be bought for all different types of hobbies. Our tutor can help guide you in selecting the correct foot to suit the technique you have chosen.
This includes:
- correctly thread your machine and wind the bobbin
- operation of buttons on machine
- adjusting tension dial and pressor foot dial
- straight stitches
- stretch stitches
- overcasting (with foot)
- blind hems (with foot)
- button holes (with foot)
- sewing on buttons (with foot)
- zips (with foot)
- applique (with foot)
- quilting quide (with accessory)
- free motion (with foot)
- decorative stitches and letteing (with foot)
- twin needles
It is the combination of both the types of stitches and feet that will make any sewing project effortless.
