Jump into an exciting new school year with all-new lessons! Whether you're a new or returning student, the Engineering for Kids Jr. Engineering/STEM Club offers hands-on, engaging activities each week to spark curiosity and creativity. Students will explore engineering concepts while developing essential 21st-century skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork - building confidence to tackle challenges in and out of the classroom. Join us for one session or the whole series and start engineering your future todaySession 2 Lessons:
Chemical Engineering: Witch's Brew - Students experiment with different materials to create a bubbling, chemical-reaction-powered witch's brew.
Mechanical Engineering: Propeller Car - Students get hands-on lesson in air-powered thrust and inertia as they design and test a propeller-driven car.
Marine Engineering: Reef Relief - Students learn about the importance of coral reefs and design their own model reef structure to withstand and underwater "quake".
Mechanical Engineering: Spinner - Students build their own spinning toy and learn how momentum keeps a rotating object in motion.
Electrical Engineering: Light It Up - Students explore basic circuits by building a simple LED-powered light-up toy.
Civil Engineering: Gingerbread House - Students are challenged to design and build a sturdy, non-edible, gingerbread house using structural engineering principles.
