The Joy Station is a cheering section along the Mill Race Marathon route focused on spreading positivity and joy to all in Mill Race Park. We invite everyone from the Columbus community and those who are visiting to join us!
Schedule
7:00am: Park and walk to the Eos statue; Roads close
7:30am: The Mill Race Marathon starts!
7:33am: We will see the first runners passing us at Mile 1 (I know, right!?)
8:05am: Once last of the walker/strollers pass us at Mile 1, we will walk to the open area in front of the Observation Tower, which is Mile 14 and the turn around point in Mill Race Park.
8:45am: The first runners will reach the turn around point at Mile 14
~12pm: The walkers/strollers will pass the turn around point
Let us know if you plan to attend. You can join any time and leave when you are ready. We hope to see you there!
Parking: We recommend that you park in the Mill Race Park parking lot next to the railroad tracks just north of the 5th Street entrance. Arrive by 7:00 AM to avoid road closures! Parking for this event is always a little hectic. Budget extra time or consider riding a bicycle in.
What to bring: You don't need to bring anything, but if you want to make a sign or wear a positive or colorful shirt that would be great. You are also encouraged to bring a lawn char if you need it to be comfortable.
Weather: A little rain can't stop our shine. If the race is on, so are we!
