They say, “You only live once,” but how true is that really? You only die once; you should live every day. That is exactly what Josh and Jamie Storlie were doing on September 6, 2026—loving life and enjoying the freedom of being on their motorcycle. But that day, everything changed.
According to the Trempealeau County press release, Josh and Jamie were traveling eastbound on State Road 121 when a deer ran into the roadway and their motorcycle struck it. Both were thrown from the motorcycle, suffered severe injuries, and were transported to an area hospital.
With little information available at first, loved ones waited for the worst while praying for the best. Those prayers were answered. Josh and Jamie are still here with us, and for that we are incredibly grateful.
Now they face a long road to recovery. Healing should be their only priority, but as a hardworking, self-employed couple running a local construction business, the loss of income and mounting expenses have created an enormous financial burden. They were already facing serious injuries while wondering how they would make it through financially.
Both were hospitalized for several days without health or dental insurance.
Josh suffered a broken clavicle, multiple broken ribs, a punctured lung, torn ligaments in his right pinky requiring reconstructive surgery, multiple head contusions requiring staples, and a brain bleed.
Jamie suffered orbital fractures, a broken nose, a brain bleed, extensive facial lacerations requiring stitches, bruised ribs, multiple broken teeth, and ongoing pain and problems with her right ear.
Both face many follow-up appointments, imaging, dental care, and an uncertain recovery ahead.
September 6th could have ended so differently. We are incredibly thankful they are still here and that, with time, they will once again be able to enjoy life with their children and grandchildren—and hopefully ride again someday.
If Josh and Jamie were reading a story like this about someone else, they would be among the first to ask, “What do you need?” and “How can I help?” They are people of action, people with huge hearts, and they are deeply loved.
Now it’s our turn to be there for them.
Please join us on Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM at Eau Claire Billiards as we come together to support our friends Josh & Jamie Storlie following their motorcycle accident. Funds raised will help with medical and dental expenses, lost income, and everyday living expenses while they are unable to work.
A pool tournament will be taking place alongside the benefit, and throughout the day we’ll also have raffles, food, fundraising activities, and more. We’re still working out some of the details, so watch this event page for updates as we get closer!
We’ve had so many people reach out asking how they can help, and right now there are several ways to get involved:
DONATIONS & RAFFLE BASKETS
We are looking for individuals and businesses willing to donate raffle baskets, gift certificates, merchandise, services, or other items for the benefit.
Donations can be dropped off at Eau Claire Billiards anytime between now and October 17th, one week before the event. If you drop off a basket or donation, please make sure we know who or what business donated it so we can give proper recognition.
We also need volunteers willing to reach out to local businesses and ask for donations.
FLYERS
Within the next week or so, we will have flyers available at the bar in both 8.5" x 11" and 11" x 17" sizes.
We would love help getting these hung around the community. We will also have 8.5" x 11" flyers available for anyone visiting businesses to request donations so you can leave a flyer with them.
We’ll post in this event when the flyers are ready for pickup.
EVENT DAY VOLUNTEERS
We’re going to need plenty of help on the day of the benefit with things like raffles, ticket sales, organizing prizes, helping guests, and all of the other moving pieces that come with an event like this.
If you’re available to volunteer on October 24th, please let us know! We’ll be putting together a volunteer sign-up list and assigning jobs and time slots as we get closer.
Thank you to everyone who has already reached out, offered help, donated, or shared the event. There is a lot to put together over the next several weeks, and every little bit of help makes a difference.
Please invite your friends, share the event, and keep watching this page for updates!
