I’m reaching out to all my Zumba friends, students, and fellow Zumba instructors. Please support your Zumba sister, who is going through an incredibly difficult season and could truly use support, prayers and community. She is currently battling thoracic outlet syndrome, a painful and debilitating condition that is affecting her entire body. Recent imaging revealed that she has cervical ribs—an extremely rare condition in which the ribs compress vital nerves and blood vessels, causing constant pain and burning in her arms and hands and severely limiting her mobility.
As if that weren’t enough, she is also healing from recent neck surgery and dealing with spinal cord inflammation that is now affecting her lower body and legs as well. The pain and limitations aren’t confined to one area—they’re impacting her whole body, making even basic movement incredibly difficult.
Right now, even the simplest daily tasks are a challenge. Most heartbreakingly, she is struggling to care for her 5-month-old baby because her arms aren’t functioning properly. The physical limitations, combined with the emotional weight of not being able to fully show up the way she longs to as a mom, have been devastating. She is nearly housebound and facing the possibility of needing yet another surgery to relieve the pressure on her nerves and restore proper blood flow.
She has fought through this before, but after pregnancy, her body has changed, and this time the symptoms are more severe. The physical toll is overwhelming, and now the financial burden is quickly piling up as well. Because she is unable to work due to pain and limited function, medical bills and living expenses are becoming unmanageable.
We are asking for help.
