South London soul with real showmanship.Joel Culpepper’s performance of “Woman” on COLORS put his falsetto in front of millions. It’s an extraordinary introduction, but there’s more to him than one song.
Raised on gospel, Prince and neo-soul, he brings those influences into his sound, moving between tenderness and full-blooded funk.
Live, Joel knows when to let the voice take over and when to pull the audience into a chorus.
The songs have character, the performances have movement, and he looks entirely at home on stage.
