Jewish Family Service of San Diego is proud to present the Joan Jacobs Signature Brunch, a meaningful gathering celebrating resilience, empowerment, and community.
This year, JFS welcomes keynote speaker Marlee Matlin, an Academy Award-winning actor and advocate whose career has redefined representation for the Deaf community in film and television. She made history as the youngest recipient of the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Children of a Lesser God. Most recently, she starred in the Best Picture-winning film CODA that brought Deaf stories and performers to the forefront of global audiences. A proud member of the Jewish community, Matlin has spoken openly about how her values have shaped her commitment to justice, inclusion, and giving back. Beyond her work on screen, she is an author and activist, using her platform to advance accessibility and equity.
