THE IMPORTANCES OF LASOTA VACCINE AND GOMBORO VACCINE IN BIRDS Lasota and Gomboro are the 2 most important vaccines for chickens and turkeys.
Skipping them can make you lose a lot of birds to disease.
1. Gumboro Vaccine / IBD Vaccine
Full name: Infectious Bursal Disease / "Gumboro".
What it protects against: A virus that destroys the bursa of Fabricius. That’s the organ that trains the bird’s immune system.
Why the vaccine is important:
• Gumboro virus is an immune destroyer: If a bird gets Gumboro young, its immune system is ruined for life. Even if it survives, every other vaccine and drug won’t work well again.
• High mortality: Can K*ll 20-60% of unvaccinated chicks 3-6 weeks old in days.
• Must be done early: Because if the bursa is damaged, later vaccines like Lasota become useless.
2. Lasota Vaccine / ND Vaccine
Full name: Newcastle Disease Vaccine, Lasota strain.
What it protects against: Newcastle Disease / ND - called "Ango" or "Cough" locally. It’s one of the killer of poultry.
Why Lasota vaccine is important:
• Newcastle disease is a wry deadly and fast spread: Kills 80-100% of unvaccinated birds.
Signs: greenish diarrhea, coughing, twisted neck, sudden death.
• Newcastle diseayhas no cure: Once it enters your farm, antibiotics won’t help. Only prevention works.
• Repeat doses needed: Immunity doesn’t last long.
