📋 Important Booking & Attendance Policies
Please review these requirements before purchasing tickets and share them with everyone in your group.
Age requirements & tickets
- All guests must be at least 5 years old. No exceptions. Children under 5, including infants, cannot enter—even if carried or accompanying a ticketed adult.
- Every person entering the studio must have a paid ticket, including accompanying adults and guests who only wish to watch. Unticketed viewing is not available.
- Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a paid, ticketed adult age 21 or older. Accompanying adults are responsible for supervising minors throughout the visit.
- Guests who arrive without meeting these admission requirements will not be admitted. Refunds or same-day tickets will not be provided for failure to meet the stated requirements.
Arrival & late entry
- Doors open 15 minutes before your scheduled experience. Please arrive during this window to check in and complete waivers.
- Experiences begin at the scheduled time. Doors close to arriving guests 10 minutes after the start time, and entry after that cutoff is not permitted.
- Entry during the first 10 minutes is subject to staff approval and the ability to complete the required safety orientation without disrupting the session.
- Late arrivals do not receive additional time, refunds, credits, exchanges, or transfers. This also applies to missed experiences. Please allow extra time for traffic, parking, and winter travel.
- Your ticket reserves space in a specific session. It does not provide admission to another session that day.
Waivers & guest safety
- Every participant must have a completed liability waiver before entering the interaction. A parent or legal guardian must complete the waiver for a minor.
- Guests must follow keeper instructions and the safety orientation throughout the experience. Only staff may open animal-area doors or gates.
- Guests may not chase, grab, restrain, pick up, or feed a kangaroo without keeper guidance and permission.
- Staff may pause or end an individual’s animal interaction, or require them to leave, if their conduct creates a safety or animal-welfare concern. Removal for unsafe conduct or refusal to follow instructions does not qualify for a refund or transfer.
- Please contact us before booking to discuss accessibility needs or accommodations so we can help you plan your visit.
Animal participation & experience expectations
- This is a shared, one-hour group experience, combining joey holding opportunities, time to watch the joeys hop and explore, and keeper-led education.
- The full hour is not individual holding time. Holding opportunities are shared among ticketed guests and guided by our keepers.
- Our kangaroos are living animals with individual needs and preferences. Participation is voluntary, and keepers may adjust activities, provide breaks, or end an interaction to protect an animal’s comfort and well-being.
- A particular kangaroo, a specific amount of holding time, or a particular photo pose cannot be guaranteed.
- This event focuses on our baby kangaroos and takes place indoors at our Wheat Ridge Studio & Education Center, not at our private ranch.
Refund & Transfer Policy
For tickets purchased on or after October 21, 2026.
Tickets are non-refundable for guest-initiated cancellations. Our intentionally small experiences reserve limited spaces for each booking. Those reservations support staffing and our kangaroos’ daily care, veterinary needs, and lifelong well-being.
Transfer options are based on the time remaining before your scheduled experience start time:
- At least 7 days before: Transfer to another available date at no charge, or place the full value of your booking on a gift card valid for 12 months from your original scheduled experience date.
- Less than 7 days, but more than 48 hours before: Date transfers may be available for a $25 fee per ticket, subject to availability.
- 48 hours or less before: No guest-requested changes, transfers, or gift-card credits are available.
All transfer requests must be submitted in writing through your booking confirmation or by email. A request does not change your reservation. Your original booking remains in effect until our team confirms the transfer in writing.
Transfers are subject to availability. Moving to a higher-priced date or experience requires payment of the price difference in addition to any applicable transfer fees. Seasonal experiences may not be available on future dates.
Late arrivals, missed experiences, and unused tickets or portions of an experience are not eligible for refunds or transfers.
Emergency requests may be considered individually. Exceptions are discretionary and cannot be guaranteed.
If Kangaroo Ranch cancels your session
If we cancel your scheduled session, you may choose a refund of your ticket purchase or a transfer to another available date. This is separate from our guest-initiated cancellation policy.
Our commitment
Kangaroo Ranch is a licensed, regulated, inspected, and insured Private Zoological Facility. Animal welfare, guest safety, and education guide every experience we offer.
❄️ Winter Weather & Travel Policy
Guest safety, animal welfare, and the safety of our team guide our operating decisions. We monitor weather and conditions affecting our facilities and the transport of our kangaroos between our private ranch and Wheat Ridge Studio. We may cancel a session when conditions prevent us from operating safely.
If Kangaroo Ranch cancels your session: You may choose a refund of your ticket purchase or a transfer to another available date. Please monitor the email associated with your booking for updates.
If your session proceeds as scheduled: Our standard Refund & Transfer Policy remains in effect. Snow, winter weather forecasts, concern about driving, or conditions affecting your individual travel plans do not create an exception to that policy.
Please consider your comfort with winter travel before booking, allow additional travel time, and plan safe alternative transportation or accommodations where appropriate. You are responsible for deciding whether travel from your location is safe. We do not ask guests to travel in unsafe conditions; however, choosing not to attend does not make a ticket eligible for a refund, credit, exchange, or transfer outside our published policy.
Same-day requests to cancel, reschedule, or receive credit because of weather or travel concerns will not receive special consideration when the session is operating. Airline cancellations or delays, road closures affecting your route, vehicle problems, and other transportation disruptions likewise do not qualify for exceptions. Requests made in advance remain subject to our standard transfer deadlines, fees, and availability.
Our decision to operate considers the conditions affecting our team, facilities, and animal transport. It cannot account for every guest’s starting point, route, vehicle, or individual circumstances.
Why we maintain these policies:
Our kangaroos depend on consistent care every day, regardless of ticket sales or attendance. Each small-group reservation supports the staffing, preparation, transportation, and resources needed to provide that care and deliver your experience.
Last-minute changes leave little opportunity to fill reserved spaces while those commitments remain in place. Predictable schedules and income help us put our animals’ welfare first while maintaining the personal attention and thoughtful connections that define our experiences.
We ask guests to review these terms before purchasing and book only if comfortable with them. Our team will apply the published policy consistently; requesting an exception does not change your reservation or guarantee an accommodation.
