Last year we had our first ever Winter Wonderland Fayre and we couldn't believe the success it was, you guys all loved it! So this year we are bringing it back, bigger and better! The shop will of course get a Winter Wonderland makeover (think when Buddy decorates the North Pole shop in the film Elf). We will be hosting a Christmas Craft Evening to make all the decorations, so if you fancy getting involved you are more than welcome. We have a separate event listed for that, so head over to that page for more info.
Here's what to expect (think all the fun of York Christmas Market but inside)..
-Usual hot drinks plus seasonal specials (we have some of the best specials lined up!)
-Limited food menu including pork and stuffing, 'Christmas leftovers' and BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Sandwiches
-A selection of festive cakes and hot puds
(of course we will have plenty of gluten free, dairy free and vegan food and cake options)
-Christmas market stalls selling handmade gifts, candles, soaps, Christmas decorations and Christmas cards
-Santa's grotto that includes a present and a photo with Santa
-Children's craft corner
-Face painting and temporary tattoos
We also be doing our Big Wrap again this year when we wrap gifts for the homeless, food packages to donate to the food bank and presents for the children's ward at DRI, so to help cover these costs we will also have a fundraising stall with games to play. Our ideas for this are: guess the flavour sponge of the cake, tombola, raffle and pin the nose on rudolph. There will also be the option for parents to pay for their own child to visit Santa and add on a present for a child at DRI. Plus a donation point to leave any donations for the homeless or food bank packages.
Our staff will be dressing up and also be joining in with some games and competitions purely for your amusement. We would love to see some of you guys dressing up too!
It will be lots of fun for all the family! Plus a great opportunity for you to get your bakery orders in before we get fully booked!
The shop will be open as normal from 9am-3pm but all drinks and food will be served in takeaway packaging and there will be very limited seating available as most of the tables and chairs will be moved to make space for stalls. There will however be tables and chairs outside, so don't forget to bring your coats.
There are no tickets so just turn up on the day. Please bring cash as this is always preferred (there is a cash point just at Tesco).
We cannot wait for this and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. If you are a local independent maker and wish to have a stall please email [email protected].
