About this Event
After many years as a legislator in the Northern Irish Assembly, Allister was elected an MEP for the DUP in 2004. He left the party in 2007 over its decision to enter into power-sharing with Sinn Fein, and founded Traditional Unionist Voice, which he had led since. At the last general election he scored an unexpected victory against Ian Paisley Jr, son of the Revd. Ian Paisley, and became the Member of Parliament for North Antrim.
Allister is a leading critic of the Windsor Framework and the Northern Ireland Executive, and has stood with his constituents in opposing mass immigration following disturbances in Ballymena last summer after the sexual assault of a young girl.
