Jhana Allan’s path as a performer has moved through classical violin, Eastern European dance music, trad jazz, folk-punk, bluegrass, indie rock and country, with each chapter shaping the distinctive songwriter and multi-instrumentalist she is today. On her forthcoming single “You Got The Eyes” Jhana Allan alchemises unwanted infatuation into warm, melodic country. Opening with mandolin and voice, the groove-driven country ballad gently expands, steadily gathering texture and a warm folk-pop lift. Allan’s honeyed vocals carry the weariness of someone who knows exactly how the story ends but still can’t resist being drawn back into it.
Support will be a special duo performance from two prolific Canberra musicians: Inez Hargaden and Hayden Kinsman
Inez Hargaden is a musician who likes to tell stories, sing songs, and laugh more than is necessary. Irish-raised and Canberra-based, her songs take you on journeys through connection, love, and the joyful suffering that is being alive.
Hayden Kinsman brings soft, contemplative indie piano tunes about the world through his eyes, ranging from personal experiences and struggles, to the magnificence of nature and the turning of seasons. Through his reflective words and unique piano harmony, Hayden will bring a gentle, melodic and thoughtful presence to your day.
