About this Event
Jersey Works Podcast Launch
Jersey Works, launching October 7, 2026 at Rutgers-Newark, is a sharp, witty, deeply reported four-part series from Newest Americans co-founders Julie Winokur and Tim Raphael. Through engaging narratives, they do what cable news won't: follow the money, the history and the individuals who show how immigrant labor has powered the New Jersey economy from the founding of the nation until today. They address what’s actually at stake in the current political climate.
We are hosting a celebration to mark the launch, featuring speakers: Patricia Campos-Medina, Marisol Conde Hernandez, Shihab Kuran, Andre Sayegh and Farhanna Sayegh.
We hope you will join us for this special evening and be part of the conversation.
Dinner will be served.
The Jersey Works Podcast was supported by a generous grant from the Sheila Y. Oliver Center for Politics and Race in America.
