About this Event
Join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy for Park Pals, a hands-on early childhood (0-6) series designed to spark curiosity, connection, and care for nature.
This session focuses on the special pollinators of Jamaica Bay and the unique coastal habitats where they can be found. We’ll explore and identify native pollinators like monarch butterflies, bumblebees, and cabbage moths, as well as their favorite snacks, such as milkweed, seaside goldenrod, and black-eyed susans.
This is a caregiver and me program, and we ask that adults stay with their children for the duration of the program. Due to limited indoor classroom space, we ask that only 1 adult sign up per family so that as many family groups can join as possible.
By attending this event, you acknowledge that you and your child/children are voluntarily participating in a Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy (JBRPC) program. You grant JBRPC a non-exclusive right to use photographs taken during this event of yourself and your child/children to promote JBRPC’s program. Use may include but is not limited to publications, website, social media, annual reports, brochures, and electronic and print media. Please let us know on the day of the event if you do not agree to you and your child/childrens photo to be taken and used as stated above.
JBRPC Park Pals Programs are generously supported by the New York Community Trust, Office of the New York State Attorney General for the New York Pollinator Conservation Fund, and NYC Ferry, operated by Hornblower. Public funding is provided by NY Senator Roxanne Persaud, Assemblymembers Stacey Pheffer-Amato and Jaime R. Williams, NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, Majority Whip Selvena Brooks-Powers, and Council Members Joann Ariola and Mercedes Narcisse.
