Jazz Vespers in the Common Room at Zion Lutheran Church of Pittsfield is back on Wednesday, November 4, at 6:00PM. Our house ensemble consists of Marisa Massery, vocals; Dan Broad, bass; Sturgis Cunningham, drums; Ben Kohn, piano; and Jeff Stevens, trumpet.
Vespers is the name of an evening service of prayer and song that has been observed in the Christian tradition for over 15 centuries. Jazz Vespers presented by Zion Lutheran Church blends contemporary jazz and blues into that historic tradition. Founded in 2014, Jazz Vespers returned in 2026 after a pandemic-related hiatus.
