After six decades of sessions at the legendary Village Vanguard, the world’s oldest continually operating jazz venue, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra continues to set the standard for large ensemble jazz. Embodying the precision, risk-taking, and soul that have always defined the genre, this group has come to be known as America’s Big Band.
Though steeped in tradition, the musicians — who will bring a big band to Trinity’s Jazz Icons for the first time ever — marry legacy and innovation, honoring the architects of modern jazz while championing the current compositional talent.
Trinity presents Jazz Icons in collaboration with JAZZ HOUSE KiDS to showcase some of the most prolific and influential artists in music history.
Registration is required as seating is limited.
We suggest arriving 45 minutes before start time. Admission is first come, first served, with ticket holders receiving priority (although not guaranteed entrance if the venue reaches capacity).
