As part of Wellington Jazz Festival, The Undercurrent presents A Game of Two Solos!
How well do jazz musicians really know jazz?
Hosted by the ever-witty John Rae, A Game of Two Solos pits two teams of top musicians against each other in a fast-paced quiz packed with musical puzzles, obscure trivia, listening challenges, and plenty of good-natured rivalry. Team captains Ben Wilcock and Dan Yeabsley lead their sides through a series of rounds that test everything from jazz history and legendary recordings to harmony, improvisation, and the unexpected.
Imagine University Challenge meets a comedy panel show, with live music thrown into the mix. Expect brilliant performances, quick-fire banter, surprising revelations, and the occasional spectacular wrong answer. Whether you're a lifelong jazz aficionado or simply enjoy great entertainment, this is a lively celebration of the music, its history, and the people who love it. Followed by the Undercurrent legendary Jam Session.
Come and cheer on your favourite team, test your own jazz knowledge from the audience, and enjoy an evening where virtuosity and comedy share the same stage.
