Get ready for a night of jazz & poetry on Sunday 17 August at Labyrinth, with Mireille Buldeo Rai (singer & poet) & Harold Habers (guitar). This Jazz & Poetry Sunday edition will bring you wonderful jazzy & bluesy songs, combined with poetry work of Halima Salat & Jaclyn Rose, about breaking up and loving again. Something most of us sooner or later go through, how to move on? How to cope? Line Up:
Mireille Buldeo Rai
Harold Habers
Halima Salat
Jaclyn Rose
This jazz & poetry edition is hosted by Mireille Buldeo Rai, who began singing in choirs, from classical to gospel, during her student years. Partly encouraged by colleagues, increasingly she sought her own voice. Poetry became a part of her life in 2008. Inspired by artists like the Amsterdam "punk poet" Diana Ozon, she was eager to learn what poetry could be, and the spark ignited.
Now she combines the love for jazz & poetry, and sings beautiful jazz songs, shares her poems about life, and is working on publishing her first poetry collection.
