JAX SongStage is turning 8!!! 🥂🎸🧁
Eight years ago, we started with a pretty simple idea: give songwriters a stage, put the focus on original music, and create a place where people could actually listen to the songs—and get to know the wonderfully eclectic humans who write them.
What happened next became so much more than a weekly music night.
It became a community.
For eight years, Tuesday nights at Campus JAX have brought together writers from every imaginable corner of music. Rock. Country. Folk. Blues. Americana. Pop. Jazz. Soul. Singer-songwriters who have toured the world and brand-new writers nervously sharing a song in public for the first time.
Different ages. Different lives. Different stories. Different sounds.
And somehow, they all fit here.
That's the magic of SongStage. ❤️
We've heard songs that made us laugh, songs that made the whole room go completely silent, songs about heartbreak and falling in love and starting over and screwing up and figuring out this crazy thing called life.
And behind every one of those songs was a person brave enough to stand up and say, "I wrote this." We admire the heck out of these people. We love their talent. We love their courage. We love their weirdness, because it matches ours! 😂 We love how they support one another. And most of all, we love the beautiful little musical family that has grown around this stage over the past eight years.
So we're throwing ourselves a birthday party. 🎉And YOU'RE invited.
This anniversary lineup is a perfect example of what SongStage has become: Michael Hill, Michael Teague, Majo Insuasti, Marc Rivera, Chris Amodeo, Amy Held and Will Minton will be joining us for an intimate night of original music and storytelling.
