Reina Sakao known as Madame Matcha from Montreal will be in Toronto on October 25th to offer a special Japanese tea ceremony in collaboration with Northern Contemporary Gallery!
Reina is a fourth generation member of a tea house family in Japan. In addition to importing a collection of tea to distribute to coffee shops, stores, restaurants and individual clients in Canada, she also offers Japanese tea ceremony as well as tea workshops.
During this Japanese Tea Ceremony, you will:
- Discover the meaning and philosophy behind Cha No Yu 'Way of Tea'.
- Learn the different steps and rituals of a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
- Explore the Zen principles and concepts that are deeply rooted in Cha No Yu.
- Learn proper tea ceremony etiquette including what to do and what to avoid as a guest.
- Enjoy authentic matcha from Kyoto, accompanied by Wasanbon, a traditional Japanese sweet often served during tea ceremony.
