About this Event

Japanese Tea Ceremony & Zen Meditation
at the Annex Building | Dr. James St

Join us for An Evening of Tea and Stillness, a contemplative presentation of chanoyu—the Japanese Way of Tea—in the Urasenke tradition.

Sensei Patrick Bennett, a student of licensed Urasenke teacher Drew Sodo Hanson, will present a semi-formal tea ceremony adapted to the historic setting. LaRonda Koffi will open the evening with a short Zen-style meditation before guests are served matcha.

The evening is shaped by attention, hospitality, seasonal beauty, and stillness, offering an opportunity to experience the quiet presence at the heart of the Way of Tea.
