Discover the art of orihon, a traditional Japanese bookmaking technique that transforms a long strip of paper into a beautifully folded, accordion-style book. In this hands-on workshop, adults will learn about the history of orihon, which has been used in China and Japan for centuries to preserve stories, poetry, artwork, and more. You’ll create your own folded book and get started filling its pages with Basho-inspired haiku. Or, make it uniquely your own by turning it into a journal, sketchbook, photo album, or keepsake. Come explore the art of bookmaking and create something beautiful to take home.
