Join the Jane Austen Society of North America, Pittsburgh Chapter, as we tour the National Historic Landmark Woodville Plantation, an important Whiskey Rebellion (1791-1794) site. While Jane Austen probably never heard of the Rebellion, it was a test of the governing resolve of the newly formed nation, and President George Washington, who owned land in this area, was deeply involved.
We'll have a 90 minute tour of Neville House followed by a potluck tea in an adjacent building. Tour and tea go on rain or shine!
Cost: $10/person, payable in cash at the door. Limited free parking at the site.
Woodville Plantation is about 15 minutes outside Carnegie, PA, off 376 on the way to the airport.
