Bio:Jan Marra and Seth 3rd Son of Albert found each other in the songwriter community of Belleville, Illinois, where a shared love of songwriting grew into friendship. They quickly discovered a mutual love of talking about the craft, performing together, and seeking out undiscovered songwriters to celebrate. Together, Jan and Seth bring two generations of experience to the stage for an evening of original songs, stories, and plenty of fun along the way.
Jan has performed her songs throughout the United States and Europe. She was featured on NPR’s A Prairie Home Companion, and several of her songs have been recorded by folk artists. She is a two-time winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk songwriter competition, and her album These Crazy Years was released by Illinois label Flying Fish. Jan is also a former member of the Saint Louis Symphony Chorus and the eight-member a cappella group Pieces of 8.
After college, Seth knew he wanted to be a father and a singer-songwriter. Fatherhood came first, but he never stopped writing and honing his skills. During his daughter’s battle with cancer, he realized it was time to begin sharing his songs with others. After years of travel, Seth returned to his hometown of Fort Wayne and began performing regularly. Over the past two years, he has been developing his live performance throughout both the Southern Illinois and Northeastern Indiana music communities. He has released two EPs, Whispers and Dreams, a country/Americana-focused collection, and No Home Without You, a more raw and intimate singer-songwriter project. His songs move through love, heartbreak, humor, and the human connections that help us find our way through life.
