Of ballads and beautySydney saxophonist and composer James Ryan brings his evocative new project Of Ballads and Beauty to 8 O’Clock Sharp on Wednesday September 24th — an evening of lyrical originals, deep groove and cinematic jazz expression.
Blending soaring melodies, rich harmonic landscapes and fearless improvisation, Of Ballads and Beauty showcases Ryan’s distinctive voice as a composer and instrumentalist, drawing on influences from spiritual jazz, modal explorations and modern chamber jazz traditions.
