As resident musician and co-writer for When Rivers Meet, James Fox developed his distinctive setup - combining baritone guitar, bass and foot drums to create a powerful, full-band sound from one musician. Inspired by that experience, he’s taken the same raw approach into his own original material, which he will be debuting at The Hotbox on 31st January 2027!
Drawing influence from Stephen Wilson Jr., The Bros. Landreth and Hozier, James blends gritty Americana, blues and soul with strong pop melodies, honest songwriting and a sound built to hit just as hard live.
James will be sharing the bill with The Ricky Lee Band, rising stars of the Essex blues scene. The Ricky Lee Band is the hottest new blues-rock band on the Essex music scene. Inspired by artists such as Joe Bonamassa, Gary Moore, Toby Lee and Free, Ricky Lee is a rising star of the blues guitar world, and his expert playing and effortless vocals are complimented by the superb backing of the bands powerhouse rhythm-section featuring Scott Little on drums and bassist Matt Waller. These three seasoned musicians have come together to write and perform original material material that will get you both dancing and feeling the power of the blues in equal measure.
