Guitarist and composer Jakub Klimiuk returns to Jazz Cafe POSK, presenting a new quartet of distinctive creative voices!
The band will be exploring Jakub’s original ompositions, described by The Guardian as “a rare mix of New York edginess and Scandinavian avant-jazz impressionism”.

Jakub Klimiuk is a Polish jazz guitarist and composer based in London. Throughout the years, he has recorded and shared the stage with the likes of Mark Lockheart, Jonas Kullhammar, John Horler, Dave O’Higgins and Krystyna Stańko, working with both UK-based and international projects. He has performed at major UK jazz venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, or the Vortex, as well as at toured Europe, playing at cultural hubs such as Berlin and Brussels with his original quintet.
Scottie Thompson is a London-based pianist, composer and producer. He draws from a myriad of musical styles in his playing; an extensive knowledge of the jazz tradition combined with classical training, as well as his love for folk and electronic music all accumulate to form his distinctive sound at the piano. Scottie has performed at major venues including Ronnie Scott’s, Jazz Cafe, the Barbican and Queen Elizabeth Hall, as a sideman for some of the finest jazz musicians across the UK from all generations.
Niklas Lukassen displays an equally astonishing lyrical sensibility and skilful command on the upright bass, the bass guitar. Immersed in contrasting musical worlds, Niklas has accompanied performances with artists such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joe Lovano, Mike Stern and Jorge Rossy. Mentored by Ron Carter, he received his Masters Degree from Manhattan School of Music on a full scholarship. Niklas has toured extensively throughout Europe, the UK, North America, Asia and North Africa, performing at the Lincoln Center, the Beacon Theatre, the John F. Kennedy Center and the Berlin Philharmonie.
Jonah Evans is a versatile drummer from Leeds who has already performed with leading musicians including Emma Rawicz, Tom Cawley, Immy Churchill, and Jonny Mansfield. Highly sought after, he is fast becoming a go-to drummer for a new generation of artists.
