We've only got the mighty Jah Wobble and the Invaders of the Hearts coming to play! They'll be taking Calstock by storm, along with special guests Elephant Talk.
Jah Wobble needs no introduction but we'll give it to you anyway. He was the original bass player in Public Image Ltd (PiL) in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 2012, he reunited with fellow PiL guitarist Keith Levene for Metal Box in Dub and the album Yin & Yang. Since 2013, he has been one of the featured pundits on Sunday morning's The Virtual Jukebox segment of BBC Radio 5 Live's Up All Night with Dotun Adebayo. His autobiography, Memoirs of a Geezer, was published in 2009.
Elephant Talk are a post-punk and goth band that emerged from Cornwall, England in the early 1980s. Their music blends the driving, dark basslines typical of early Joy Division and The Cure with melancholic, dramatic vocals. Because very few physical copies of their 7" record ASK (Fragile Records) were pressed, original vinyl copies are highly sought after by collectors of regional UK DIY post-punk.
