Oct. 1st marks the unofficial beginning of the holiday season, and here at the Jacksonville Bar that means one thing:It's time - once again - for the Jax Bar Senior Holiday Project!
For more than 20 years, the Jacksonville Bar Association has partnered with local senior assistance organization Aging True to bring holiday joy to local seniors through our Annual Senior Holiday Project. Each year, we provide small gifts that make a big difference - items like nuts, candy, and snacks, or cozy essentials such as blankets, pajamas, slippers, or even small home appliances like toasters and space heaters.
And we need YOUR help to make the 2026 Jax Bar Senior Holiday Project a success once again!
When you sign up to partner with a local senior, the JBA Elder Affairs Committee will connect you with a senior (or seniors), provide their wish list, and give instructions for either delivering the gift directly or bringing it to the Jax Bar office. Gifts brought to the Bar office will be delivered to the seniors by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office - as you can see here from our previous years photos! - helping ensure every package reaches its destination with care. (We encourage you to personally deliver your gifts. It makes for a wonderful holiday tradition that can be done with family and friends. Alternatively, you may deliver your items to the Jacksonville Bar Association, located at 1 Independent Drive, Suite 120, Jacksonville, FL 32202, and we'll take care of the rest with the help of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office! If you are unable to make a delivery on your own, be sure to drop off your gifts at the JBA between November 30th through December 4th, at 5PM.)
This is a wonderful way to brighten the holiday season for someone in need - so, please, please, PLEASE consider participating and making a senior’s holiday a little warmer and more joyful!
