On this 5 week course you will learn the basics of painting in watercolour and pick up a few tips and tricks to help you tackle your watercolour painting with confidence.Suitable for beginners and above.
You will begin with paper stretching and creating a wash. Moving onto colour mixing, choosing your pallet for the best effect, and how to keep your colours vibrant. You will explore paint effects and techniques that will help you build texture in your painting, how to deal with mistakes and which brush to use when.
We will look at master artists David Hockney, Van Gogh and others examining their mark making techniques in their watercolour sketches.
By the end of this course, you will have completed a minimum of 2 pieces of work. The first will be following a step-by-step process, working from a selection of images provided, your own work or working from still life in the studio.
