It’s Me They Follow: To A West Philly Book Signing
More than a book talk: a night of conversation, live music, and creative community!
Legendary percussionist and cultural curator Karen Smith and multi-talented artist Nina “Lyrispect” Ball host an evening celebrating It’s Me They Follow, the groundbreaking new work by Jeannine A. Cook, in community with Manny Smith. Together, they will lead a powerful conversation on caring for ourselves, building authentic followings, and cultivating community as artists and supporters.
This is more than a reading. It is a celebration of artists caring for each other. The night will flow with literature, live music performances, food, and gems of wisdom shared in the spirit of thanksgiving. Expect a gathering that uplifts, inspires, and reminds us of the power of creating and sharing together.
Join us at the new Painted Bride Art Center Project Space in East Parkside for this magical evening of connection and creativity. Even if you cannot attend, consider donating a “pay it forward” ticket so another artist or community member can be part of the experience. Please note: as the Project Space is embedded in the neighborhood, guests are encouraged to rideshare or park on 40th Street, not Cambridge Street.
