Guest Speaker: Joel Lundy, Acting Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Office of Acquisition Solutions Development, GSA FAS
Joel Lundy is the Acting Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Office of Acquisition Solutions Development (ASD) GSA FAS provides buying platforms and acquisition services to federal, state, and local governments for a broad range of items from office supplies to professional services to motor vehicles to information technology and telecommunications products and services. As an organization within FAS, ASD provides access to a wide range of commercial and custom products, services and solutions.
In his role, Joel provides executive leadership over a broad portfolio of contracts and programs including the IT, Telecommunications, Professional Services, General Supplies and Services, and the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS). The IT Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC), including the Polaris Small Business GWACs, and Alliant 2 and 3, the Enterprise Infrastructure Services telecommunications offerings, and the Professional Services Multiple Award Contracts OASIS and OASIS+ are also part of this portfolio. His portfolio also includes the Office of Vendor Management, which leads GSA’s OneGov initiative and other engagements with the vendor community, as well as the Office of Category Management, which works across the Executive Branch to support GSA’s category management and procurement consolidation efforts. Joel’s guidance and oversight of these teams ensures that GSA continues to play a critical role in the Administration’s modernization efforts to drive a more efficient and effective government for the American people.
Previously, Joel directed a portfolio of contracts and programs within ASD that offer government agencies a diverse set of IT software, cloud, and hardware product and service solutions valued at $8 billion annually. Prior to joining ASD, Joel held a range of positions at GSA, including serving as Program Manager of GSA’s Central Asia Local Procurement Initiative, managing the agency’s $150 million supply chain in Central Asia and the South Caucasus to support the U.S. military and civilian agencies in Afghanistan while promoting economic development and cooperation across the region.
Joel entered federal service with GSA as a Presidential Management Fellow. Joel graduated with honors from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in history and holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
