From the Bathhouse Raids to St. Charles Tavern, discover the stories of Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ community in the Church-Wellesley Village.
About this Event

Join us on a guided walk through Church-Wellesley Village to explore the powerful legacy of Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ community. From the resilience shown during the Bathhouse Raids and the AIDS epidemic to the joy and connection found at spaces like the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre and the St. Charles Tavern, this tour traces the landmarks of both struggle and celebration.

About the Tour Leader

Ella Miller (she/her) is a local writer and editor who specializes in reporting on queerness, disability, and rural living. She has recently graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor’s of Journalism and minor in 2SLGBTQIA+ studies. Ella has previously worked as a tour guide at the Old Stone Mill National Historic Site in Delta, Ontario and as an archivist at the Brockville Museum. She currently works with the Toronto Blue Jays delivering tours of Rogers Centre and on the history of baseball in the city. Ella is passionate about local history and has been involved in archival and education work since she was 10 years old. When not working or freelancing, Ella can likely be found at drag shows on Queen West, visiting artist alleys and fan conventions, or hanging out with her cat, Javier.
