About this Event
Isobelle Austin & Arsha Kaviani: An Evening of Cello & Piano
Moving between familiar classical melodies and contemporary writing, the evening explores the expressive worlds of cello and piano through music that offers space for presence, reflection and connection.
Across an hour-long programme, Isobelle & Arsha will begin with a selection of classical favourites, including The Swan by Saint-Saëns, Fauré’s Après un rêve, Ravel’s Vocalise-Étude en forme de Habanera and the Adagio sostenuto from Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.
International Steinway Artist and acclaimed pianist-composer Arsha Kaviani will perform works by Rachmaninov and Scriabin, alongside one or two of his own compositions. His work moves between classical repertoire, improvisation and original music, with a particular interest in bringing those worlds together in performance.
The programme will then move into Isobelle’s original music, including live performances of her recent singles Sun On My Skin and Meditation on Three, alongside unreleased works that will feature on her forthcoming debut album. Her contemporary classical work is guided by her experience of sound as colour, texture, light and movement. Isobelle has written about how synesthesia shapes her music for .
The performance will take place in Burgh House’s beautiful, wood-panelled Music Room. The bar will be open before and after the recital, with drinks available from 7pm and following the performance until 9pm.
